The Bergman Family

Serving in Romania

We are Jason and Erin Bergman and we have 4 awesome kids.  Our family has joined the team currently serving at Camp Falcon Rock in Romania, and we are looking forward to what God has in store for us.

We have a heart and a passion for camp ministry and have spent many summers serving at Pine Lake Christian camp, in Alberta and feel like God has uniquely prepared us for this calling. We know the impact that a fun-filled, Jesus-soaked week at camp can have on a young person's faith journey and we are so excited to have the opportunity to help develop a camp for the young people of Romania.

Over the past couple years, the ministry in Romania has been blessed with incredible growth, momentum and fruit all thanks to the work of God. CFR has witnessed this in the development of the physical structures at Camp Falcon Rock, the numbers of campers, conferences and events that are taking place on site, as well as with partnerships forming between NA churches and our local Hungarian/Romanian churches.  In 2019, they hosted over 1,500 people at the camp! Through this, hundreds of young people had the opportunity to attend ongoing leadership and discipleship conferences as well as be a part of summer programs. They saw many lives changed by the Gospel of Christ through young people stepping out to follow Jesus and others stepping into a deeper faith in their journey with Him. In addition, due to the ‘sister church partnerships’ that are forming between our North American churches and those in Romania, the opportunity to follow up with churches, children, youth and villages has increased allowing continual discipleship to take place beyond the camp property.  Due to Covid-19 they were unable to do camp season in 2020 but we are all looking forward to summer camp season 2021.

The demand on the growing ministry in terms of the camp construction, programs, village ministry and sister-church partnerships has shown the need for more long-term missionaries to come and partner with the ministry.  We are humbled by the invitation to be used by God in this Kingdom work and to be officially on the team here in Romania.

Jason’s role will be full time with approximately 80 percent construction and 20 percent program planning and camp leadership development.  Erin will be .25 and be assisting in program planning, camp leadership development, and administration.  We will also be involved in helping to organize and facilitate North American teams that come to Romania to serve at Camp Falcon Rock.  Our prayer is to live our lives here in Romania in a manner worthy of the gospel ( Philippians 1:27) so that in word and deed the love of God would be revealed in our everyday lives with the people that God places in front of us.
